The City of Venice held its opening celebration for the newly constructed Old Betsy Museum on June 5, 2025. The building serves as an open-view storage space to house and exhibit the City’s beloved 1926 American LaFrance fire engine, Venice’s first fire engine. Information panels are accessible outside enabling visitors to learn more about Old Betsy’s history and significance to the Venice community.
You can visit Old Betsy at 343 Nassau Street S, Venice, FL 34285 at Venice’s Cultural Campus, which includes the Venice Museum & Archives; Venice Community Center; William H. Jervey, Jr. Venice Library; and Venice Art Center. It is also across the street from West Blalock Park and the Monty Andrews Arboretum. Take a few hours this summer to explore everything the Cultural Campus has to offer!
