Together, We Can Prevent Veteran Suicide
The Long Walk Home stops Veteran suicide and improves the quality of life for them and their families through our self-empowerment courses; through “10 Challenges to Service” and “ASIST.” It helps them create a new mission of service, turn their anger into mindfulness and heal relationships. We also do community building events—all at no cost to Veterans and their families and are always looking for those who want to help them make the transition by becoming a mentor.
In 2024 and 2025, Ron Zaleski and Omar Rose walked across the country to create awareness and accountability for the Veteran suicide crisis. On their way back home they gave workshops to over 100 people bringing life-saving services to Veterans and military families in the United States.
About Us
Founded in 2006 by a Marine Veteran, The Long Walk Home is empowering Veterans and their families around the country helping them make the transition to civilian life and saving lives. Every day, roughly 17 Veterans are lost to suicide. This is unacceptable to us. Our organization addresses this problem by providing transformative programs, resources, and events to Veterans and their families, free of charge.
