Venice Museum’s latest seasonal photo exhibit, We’re Staying the Night: The Historic Hotels of Venice, opens on Monday, Feb. 3 and features select photos from our collection highlighting Venice’s early hotel structures.  
 
The exhibit is the first in a series of free educational history exhibits at the Venice Museum that will showcase Venice’s origins as we enter the City’s centennial celebration in 2025-2027.  
The Venice Museum is located inside the historic Triangle Inn, listed in both the Venice Register of Historical Resources and the National Registers of Historic Places. The Historic Venice Train Depot, built in 1927 and renovated in 2002-2003, was central to the founding and development of Venice, Florida. Volunteer docents from Venice Area Historical Society provide free public tours of the Depot and surrounding campus. Panel displays and artifacts in the Depot's two waiting rooms illustrate key events in Venice's history and the history of the Depot itself.

Our Afterschool Academic Program focuses on providing academic and emotional support to help the students believe in themselves and assist them in understanding the material taught in school so that they can excel in their classes.

We work hand in hand with the Sarasota County Board of Education and Sarasota Public Schools by educating and helping students with their homework, school projects, and our daily reading curriculum. Our ratio for the program is three students to one staff, teacher, or volunteer. Our Afterschool Academic Program is committed to helping children in South Sarasota County. We are a place where children can come in a safe environment for educational assistance. Our Afterschool Academic Program focuses on providing academic and emotional support to help the students believe in themselves and assist them in understanding the material taught in school so that they can excel in their classes.

We work hand in hand with the Sarasota County Board of Education and Sarasota Public Schools by educating and helping students with their homework, school projects, and our daily reading curriculum. Our ratio for the program is three students to one staff, teacher, or volunteer. The Historic Venice Train Depot, built in 1927 and renovated in 2002-2003, was central to the founding and development of Venice, Florida. Volunteer docents from Venice Area Historical Society provide free public tours of the Depot and surrounding campus. Panel displays and artifacts in the Depot's two waiting rooms illustrate key events in Venice's history and the history of the Depot itself. 

Tours of the Depot start in the main waiting room.  The length of tours can be tailored to your needs.

Without question, Venice’s early hotels were a prominent, important, and initial component when first building the Venice community. What did these structures look like? Where are/were these buildings located? How many exist today? Find out these answers and much more as the Venice Museum celebrates its early lodging history on the eve of the city turning 100! Venice Museum’s latest seasonal photo exhibit, We’re Staying the Night: The Historic Hotels of Venice, opens on Monday, Feb. 3 and features select photos from our collection highlighting Venice’s early hotel structures.  
 
The exhibit is the first in a series of free educational history exhibits at the Venice Museum that will showcase Venice’s origins as we enter the City’s centennial celebration in 2025-2027.  
The Venice Museum is located inside the historic Triangle Inn, listed in both the Venice Register of Historical Resources and the National Registers of Historic Places. The Historic Venice Train Depot, built in 1927 and renovated in 2002-2003, was central to the founding and development of Venice, Florida. Volunteer docents from Venice Area Historical Society provide free public tours of the Depot and surrounding campus. Panel displays and artifacts in the Depot's two waiting rooms illustrate key events in Venice's history and the history of the Depot itself.

Our Afterschool Academic Program is committed to helping children in South Sarasota County. We are a place where children can come in a safe environment for educational assistance. Our Afterschool Academic Program focuses on providing academic and emotional support to help the students believe in themselves and assist them in understanding the material taught in school so that they can excel in their classes.

We work hand in hand with the Sarasota County Board of Education and Sarasota Public Schools by educating and helping students with their homework, school projects, and our daily reading curriculum. Our ratio for the program is three students to one staff, teacher, or volunteer. We're Staying the Night: The Historic Hotels of Venice

Without question, Venice’s early hotels were a prominent, important, and initial component when first building the Venice community. What did these structures look like? Where are/were these buildings located? How many exist today? Find out these answers and much more as the Venice Museum celebrates its early lodging history on the eve of the city turning 100! Venice Museum’s latest seasonal photo exhibit, We’re Staying the Night: The Historic Hotels of Venice, opens on Monday, Feb. 3 and features select photos from our collection highlighting Venice’s early hotel structures.  
 
The exhibit is the first in a series of free educational history exhibits at the Venice Museum that will showcase Venice’s origins as we enter the City’s centennial celebration in 2025-2027.  
The Venice Museum is located inside the historic Triangle Inn, listed in both the Venice Register of Historical Resources and the National Registers of Historic Places. The Historic Venice Train Depot, built in 1927 and renovated in 2002-2003, was central to the founding and development of Venice, Florida. Volunteer docents from Venice Area Historical Society provide free public tours of the Depot and surrounding campus. Panel displays and artifacts in the Depot's two waiting rooms illustrate key events in Venice's history and the history of the Depot itself. 

Tours of the Depot start in the main waiting room.  The length of tours can be tailored to your needs.

Our Afterschool Academic Program is committed to helping children in South Sarasota County. We are a place where children can come in a safe environment for educational assistance. Our Afterschool Academic Program focuses on providing academic and emotional support to help the students believe in themselves and assist them in understanding the material taught in school so that they can excel in their classes.

We work hand in hand with the Sarasota County Board of Education and Sarasota Public Schools by educating and helping students with their homework, school projects, and our daily reading curriculum. Our ratio for the program is three students to one staff, teacher, or volunteer. All students are provided with laptops to log into their My SCS account to complete online assignments. We also offer one-on-one assistance for our Specialized Varying Exceptionality Students (SVES) with homework and school assignments. Our program is every Monday-Friday, 3:30–5:30 pm.

Rides are held at 10 a.m. the second Thursday of the month, October through April.

The ride will start at Venice City Hall, with an approximate route of almost 7 miles that includes a section of the Venetian Waterway Park trail.

The bike rides are led by City Bicycle Pedestrian Coordinator Darlene Culpepper, who will hold a pre-ride safety briefing. All are invited. Bring your bicycle and a helmet, and meet in the west parking lot of City Hall, 401 W. Venice Ave., at 10 a.m.
